Job summary

Search Consultancy Ltd. in Glasgow is seeking an Audit Senior to join the External Audit team on a hybrid basis. You will lead audits from planning through to completion, building strong client relationships and mentoring junior staff across a diverse portfolio, including charities, housing associations and SMEs.

The role offers development opportunities, a supportive environment, and UK travel where required. Relevant post-qualification experience and UK ISA knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• CA or ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience.
• Typically 4–6 years’ audit experience.
• Experience supervising and reviewing junior staff.
• Strong knowledge of UK auditing standards, including ISAs and FRs.
• Experience on medium to large audit engagements.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Well organised with ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Proactive, professional and quality-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Undertake complex and technical audit work as senior fieldwork member.
• Supervise, review and mentor junior staff and trainees.
• Prepare statutory accounts from trial balance, including adjustments and disclosures.
• Draft management letters and provide recommendations on controls and governance.
• Act as a key client contact and attend meetings as required.
• Ensure audit work meets standards, regulations and methodologies.
• Support Managers and Partners with proposals and business development.
• Contribute to onboarding and development of graduate trainees.
• Undertake occasional UK travel, including overnight stays.
