Job summary

BMI, part of the Fitch Group, is seeking a Data Scientist based out of our London office to design, build, and deploy quantitative models powering advanced analytics for global clients. You will work with country and industry analysts, economists, and backend developers to deliver scalable, interpretable insights for risk management and decision making.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience querying, cleaning, compiling, and analyzing big data.
• Experience with Python, R and libraries such as numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, pytorch.
• Proven experience developing, refining, and monitoring NLP models.
• Familiarity with experiment tracking and model management tools.
• Ability to operationalize non-technical ideas into research designs and features.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and test new approaches for extracting insights from structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain robust ML and data pipelines for experimentation and deployment.
• Design, build, and optimize risk models for analytics and generative AI applications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Economists, Industry Analysts, Political Scientists, and Developers.
• Explain ML/NLP model outputs and methodologies to non-technical stakeholders.
