Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is recruiting three Assistant Project Managers on 24-month fixed-term appointments to support the delivery of projects and work packages across the Central Operations division. Roles can be full-time or part-time with flexible working, onsite three days per week, and a starting salary of £43,702 including a £3,300 specialist allowance, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting projects or programmes in a structured environment.
• Introductory project management qualification or 3–5 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of planning, risk and issue management, change control and reporting.
• Experience monitoring costs or maintaining financial information.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of projects and work packages to time, cost and quality.
• Build relationships with project teams, stakeholders, suppliers and commercial colleagues.
• Support procurement, contracts, business cases and benefits tracking.
• Maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets and controls.
• Monitor risks, issues, dependencies and changes; escalate concerns.
• Coordinate governance, assurance and reporting with clear decisions.
• Use AI and digital tools to streamline activities and increase delivery efficiency.
