Job summary

EG Group is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join the Finance function at our Head Office in Horwich. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support day-to-day financial control and reporting, ensuring timely month-end close and strong controls across the business.

You will lead a Finance team, manage balance sheet activities, and assist with statutory reporting and year-end audits, while partnering with Shared Services to resolve queries and improve processes.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with significant post-qualified experience in financial accounting or financial control.
• Strong month-end reporting and balance sheet management experience.
• Experience with statutory reporting and audits.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with IFRS 16 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Financial Controller with day-to-day financial control and reporting, ensuring timely month-end reporting.
• Lead and manage a Finance team, providing direction and coaching to develop capability.
• Oversee balance sheet activities, reconciliations, and robust controls.
• Coordinate statutory financial statements and year-end audit requirements, ensuring timely delivery.
• Oversee local statutory reporting and cash flow reporting with insightful analysis.
• Collaborate with Shared Services to resolve accounting queries and strengthen processes.
• Provide technical accounting support and identify process improvement opportunities.
