Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer in the UK to support and lead multi-disciplinary design work across river, coastal, maritime and dam projects.

You will join a skilled UK-based team under the D&AT Practice, collaborating with global teams to deliver integrated designs and ensure quality across fast-paced environments. A degree in Civil Engineering and active chartership development are expected, with opportunities to grow technical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Motivation to work towards chartership with a relevant professional institution.
• A curious mindset and enthusiasm for solving real-world challenges.
• Enthusiasm to develop skills within a supportive team.
• Proficiency with current design codes and standards including CDM Regulations.
• Experience with analytical software and related tools.
• Strong communication within diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead a small team in the delivery of technical design work on multi-disciplinary projects to high-quality levels in river, coastal, maritime and dams engineering.
• Collaborate with civil engineering teams and other AtkinsRéalis groups on delivery of design deliverables.
• Work independently with some technical guidance.
• Use technical judgment to solve design problems and guide junior members.
• Collaborate with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design and check own work.
• Prepare design reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
• Attend sites, inspect asset conditions and accompany senior engineers on site.
