Job summary

Bupa is seeking an Assistant Buyer for a fixed-term contract ending February 2027, based at Bupa Place (Salford Quays) with hybrid working up to 3 days home. Salary from £26,500 to £28,000 per year, full-time (37.5 hours).

You will support sourcing activities, develop category plans, conduct market research, assist with supplier selection and tender activities, and deliver data-driven procurement insights in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast paced administrative role is essential.
• Experience within a buying/procurement function would be advantageous
• Negotiation or contract administration experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing activities across one or more procurement categories.
• Help develop and maintain category plans that identify opportunities for savings and improvements.
• Carry out market research and supplier benchmarking to support category strategies.
• Assist with supplier selection and tender activities, helping to achieve the best outcomes for Bupa.
• Support pre-qualification processes, supplier evaluations and commercial reviews.
• Prepare procurement reporting dashboards and provide data-driven insights.
• Coordinate supplier due diligence activities and make sure required documentation is completed on time.
• Manage procurement administration activities, including maintaining supplier and contract records.
• Support contract drafting activities with relevant stakeholders.
• Promote procurement best practice across the organisation.
• Build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.
