Job summary

Babcock Vehicle Engineering in Walsall is seeking an Assistant Buyer / Operational Procurement Associate to support end-to-end procurement activities in a fast-paced environment.

You'll help convert requirements into purchase orders, monitor deliveries, resolve invoice queries and maintain accurate supplier data within ERP systems, while collaborating with stakeholders across the business. This hybrid role offers career development in procurement and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-focused or service-driven environment.
• Strong organisational and multi-priority management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with procurement or ERP systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Buyers to deliver efficient procurement and purchasing activities across the business.
• Processing material and purchasing demands, converting requirements into purchase orders for suppliers.
• Monitoring overdue orders and proactively liaising with suppliers to maintain delivery performance.
• Resolving invoice queries and supplier delivery issues to ensure smooth operational performance.
• Maintaining accurate procurement and supplier data within purchasing and ERP systems
