Job summary

Keele University Students' Union is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team in Newcastle. The role supports the Finance Business Partner and focuses on purchase and sales ledgers, creditor/debtor management, and regular commercial reporting.

The position is permanent, full-time, with hybrid working (3 days remote). The salary starts at £30,282.22 per year, with a salary of £15.49 per hour, and is paid for 52 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Control of Purchase Ledger, including supervision and posting of purchase invoices, weekly BACS run and reconciliation of Creditors
• Control of Sales Ledger Invoices and collecting of debt
• Control and posting of commercial reporting; providing weekly trading updates to the commercial management team, posting of revenue to Sage and production of reporting around revenue and profitability
• Control of student MSL online systems
• Assisting with control of relevant balance sheet reconciliations

Responsibilities

• Key member of the Finance Team, supporting the Finance Business Partner to provide a smooth day to day running of the Keele SU finance office
• Ownership of the following key areas: Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, commercial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Produce weekly trading updates and revenue reporting for management
• Assist with maintenance of student MSL online systems and related balance sheet control
