Job summary

Renishaw plc is seeking an Automation Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain software for assembly and test systems used in Additive Manufacturing production. Qualifications

• Degree qualified (2:1 or above) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Experience developing software using C# and .NET.
• Understanding of software engineering principles including design, testing and debugging.
• Ability to solve technical problems using a structured and analytical approach.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• Hands-on engineering aptitude, comfortable using basic tools and working with both software and hardware, including assembly, installation, troubleshooting and fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software for assembly and test systems used in the manufacture of AM products.
• Develop and maintain reusable software libraries, frameworks and shared components that support multiple engineering projects and production systems.
• Support the development and introduction of new manufacturing and test processes for new products.
• Integrate software with hardware including sensors, motion systems, instruments and production equipment.
• Contribute to the definition of software architecture, coding standards and best practices to promote consistency and maintainability.
• Analyse test data and process metrics to support product and process development activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable engineering solutions.
• Support validation and troubleshooting activities on production and development systems.
