Job summary

CommonAI CIC is seeking engineers to build a simulation framework for AI infrastructure comparisons. You will develop and connect simulation components, ensuring changes propagate correctly across the system and align predictions with real measurements.

Strong software engineering skills and experience with simulation, architecture, and inference runtimes are required. The role supports hybrid work with a Cambridge base and opportunities to collaborate with UK partners and academia.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience with large codebases.
• Experience in discrete-event simulation and performance modelling.
• Experience with AI inference runtimes and serving systems.
• Familiarity with Python, C++, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate simulation components for AI infrastructure comparisons.
• Evaluate existing frameworks and extend components via clear interfaces.
• Model system state and resource usage to predict cross-component effects.
• Build reproducible simulation scenarios, tests and diagnostics.
• Collaborate with measurement teams to align predictions with measurements.
