Leeds Building Society is seeking an AI Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary AI team and deliver production-grade AI solutions using Microsoft AI capabilities. The role emphasizes standards, risk-aware deployment and collaboration with architecture, security, and data teams.

Qualifications

• Strong, visible people leader who coaches to drive performance and engagement.
• Proven track record delivering AI or data-intensive solutions into production.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Foundry, Copilot and Azure AI stack to set standards and assure quality.
• Experience establishing engineering and operational standards across multiple teams.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end AI, software and data lifecycle including deployment and monitoring.
• Clear communication to connect technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of AI Engineers and AI Platform & Operations Engineers.
• Deliver AI solutions from PoC into production using Microsoft AI capabilities and related tech.
• Collaborate with AI Lead and cross-functional teams across architecture, security, risk and data.
• Balance pace with risk controls to keep the AI estate within risk appetite and high standards.
• Foster an inclusive culture by role modelling behaviours and coaching talent.
• Drive high performance through mentoring and development of team members.
