Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior for a well-regarded practice in Bury, Greater Manchester. The role offers a hands-on mix of accounts, tax and compliance for a varied client base. The team of seven values ownership and clear communication and provides study support for ACA/ACCA/AAT.

The position is permanent with hybrid working (2–3 days in the office). Salary up to £45,000 dependent on experience, with a route to portfolio ownership as the practice grows.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
• Solid grounding in accounts preparation for varied client types.
• Qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/AAT; experience considered.
• Comfortable with bookkeeping, VAT and personal tax.
• Ownership of work and ability to meet deadlines; good communication with clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for a mixed portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and Limited.
• Complete VAT returns and ensure clients remain MTD compliant.
• Prepare CT computations and CT600 returns.
• Prepare personal self-assessment tax returns for directors and individuals.
• Prepare management accounts and provide financial reporting for decision-making.
• Bookkeeping and ledger management for range of clients.
• Support and review work of junior team members.
• Maintain strong day-to-day client relationships.
• Contribute to team KPIs and assist management as required.
