Job summary

Pure 4 Recruitment Limited is seeking a Semi-senior / Client Accountant in the UK. You will manage client relationships, review bookkeeping and oversee routine compliance in a hybrid work setting.

You will handle VAT, payroll and year-end tasks, coordinate with junior staff, and escalate complex tax matters when needed. AAT Level 4 and at least three years of UK practice experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Fully AAT qualified at Level 4 with 3+ years UK practice experience.
• Strong bookkeeping, VAT, accounts prep and routine compliance knowledge.
• Experience reviewing records and identifying errors or discrepancies.
• Confident communicating with clients by phone and email.
• Experience using Xero or comparable accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day relationships with an allocated client portfolio and respond to bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, accounts and compliance queries.
• Request records, explain actions and follow up ahead of deadlines.
• Review junior staff's bookkeeping and accounts prep for errors and corrections.
• Review reconciliations, control accounts, and working papers; assist with management and year-end accounts.
• Oversee VAT return preparation, monitor bookkeeping accuracy and coordinate payroll.
• Track statutory deadlines and oversee outstanding compliance tasks.
• Coordinate junior staff workloads and provide feedback to improve processes.
