Job summary

Pure 4 Recruitment is seeking an AAT Level 4 qualified Client Accountant for an Altrincham-based practice. You will manage client relationships, review bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and accounts preparation, and coordinate routine compliance in a hybrid role.

You will work directly with business owners, supervise junior staff, and escalate complex tax matters to senior management, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards maintained.

Qualifications

• Sound practical knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation.
• Experience reviewing records and spotting errors or discrepancies.
• Ability to communicate with clients by phone and email.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day relationships with an allocated client portfolio and respond to enquiries.
• Request records, explain actions and follow up ahead of deadlines.
• Review junior colleagues' bookkeeping and accounts preparation and correct errors.
• Review reconciliations, control accounts and working papers, assist with year-end accounts.
• Oversee VAT return prep and coordinate payroll processing and client queries.
• Track deadlines for VAT, PAYE, corporation tax and Companies House filings.
• Coordinate junior staff workloads and provide feedback to improve processes.
