Job summary

CAP Resourcing is seeking an experienced 2nd Line Service Desk Consultant (Infrastructure) to join our client’s team. The role supports on-premises and cloud environments across UK hubs, with hybrid/flexible working options in Glasgow and other locations.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot complex incidents, mentor junior staff, and apply expertise in Microsoft 365, Exchange, virtualization, security and backup solutions.

Qualifications

Hands-on work with on-premises servers, networking (routing, switching) and cloud/hybrid infrastructure.
Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange and virtualization technologies.
Solid knowledge of firewalls, enterprise antivirus (Sophos) and IT security.
Experience with on-premises and cloud backups and hosted telephony.
Full UK Driving Licence required.
Excellent phone manner and relationship-building; mentoring capability.
Microsoft Associate-level certifications are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical escalation point for 1st Line Engineers and juniors.
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents across on-premises and cloud environments.
