Job summary

A leading technology solutions company in Reading is seeking a proactive 2nd Line Security Analyst to help ensure the security of clients’ infrastructure and applications. The role involves providing high-quality technical support and leading security incident management, with a requirement to work in the office for training and three days a week thereafter. Candidates should have significant experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with security practices and tools. The position offers competitive salary and various employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in an IT technical support environment (desktop, server, application).
• Working towards or holding at least 3 of: SC-200, CCFA, AZ-500, CEH, CISA, CompTIA Security+.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line support via our Service Desk, resolving incidents and service requests within SLA.
• Monitor and manage IT security systems, escalating issues where needed.
• Lead small teams delivering security-focused work packages.
• Produce clear documentation to meet customer and compliance standards.
• Support hardening of IT platforms and review security-impacting changes.

Skills

Strong understanding of ITIL practices

Desktop, Networking, Server, or application support

Solid knowledge across networking, Microsoft/VMware/Cloud tech, and security tooling

Experience with firewalls, patching, AV/EDR

Confident communication skills

Familiarity with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials

Ability to meet vetting requirements (BS7858)
