Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is recruiting a Hwb Adviser (temporary to 30 September 2027) to join the Customer Services team in Carmarthen and Llanelli. You will help deliver integrated, multi-channel services across the Hwb network, with a focus on employability support and helping residents access advice and opportunities.

The role requires Welsh language communication and involves occasional travel to other county sites.

Qualifications

  • Welsh language ability required; support can be provided to reach this level.
  • Experience in customer services or frontline advisory role is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites within the county when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with complex enquiries and deliver high standards of customer service.
  • Support multi-channel services and employability initiatives within the Hwb network.
  • Provide cover at other sites across Carmarthenshire as required.

Join Our Customer Services Team – Make a Difference in Carmarthenshire
Are you passionate about helping others and eager to support your community during challenging times? Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Hwb Adviser to join our Customer Services team. As part of our Tackling Poverty Agenda and response to the Cost of Living crisis, you’ll play a vital role in delivering integrated, multi-channel services across the Hwb network including supporting our Hwb Bach Y Wlad Service. Your work will also include a focus on employability support, helping residents access advice, opportunities and services that can improve their skills, confidence and prospects.
We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively, demonstrating an awareness of other Council and partner services, to provide residents with a coordinated and seamless customer experience. You’ll be assisting with complex enquiries, supporting colleagues, and delivering high standards of customer service even in challenging situations.
This role requires flexibility, as you will occasionally be asked to provide cover at other sites within the county including rural parts of Carmarthenshire. Therefore, the ability to travel is essential.
The ability to communicate effectively in Welsh is required. Support can be provided to achieve this level.
