The opportunity

Are you ready to take on a position where you will be responsible for some of the largest and most technology-intensive projects within Hitachi Energy?

As HVDC Sales Manager in the Northern European team, you will work on HVDC projects central to transmission network developments supporting global carbon reduction goals. Collaborating closely with account management, local sales teams, and country representatives, you will capture and negotiate large-scale HVDC projects for Hitachi Energy.

This role is ideally based in Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden, or Birmingham or Glasgow, UK. Regular travel is required.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Sell turnkey HVDC converter systems, focusing on volume, mix, and profitability, leading negotiations to close projects with mutual value.
  • Identify and develop HVDC business opportunities from early concept through bidding and negotiation, managing project teams.
  • Create and implement market and sales plans, develop bid strategies, and lead pursuit teams to deliver cost-effective, value-focused tenders.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding their needs and promoting Hitachi Energy’s portfolio.
  • Support partner engagement, leading strategy development and negotiations for joint pursuits.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, leveraging digital tools and supporting business processes.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety, integrity, and diversity.
Your Background
  • University degree in engineering, business, or a related field, with extensive experience in complex project sales, preferably EPC projects.
  • Experience with international and multicultural environments, demonstrating cultural navigation skills.
  • Strong negotiation, closing, and commercial skills.
  • Ability to support and motivate teams, network effectively, and be a team builder.
  • Customer-oriented, assertive, flexible, with analytical skills for complex business situations.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
