Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support HVDC cable installation on major UK transmission projects. You will ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs, while coordinating with the site team to deliver safe, efficient construction.

The role requires 5+ years in site engineering with HVDC exposure, strong grasp of civil works, and a proactive safety mindset across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• HVDC cable installation knowledge and related civil works experience required.
• Experience on major infrastructure or transmission projects in the UK preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs, and method statements.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support for HVDC cable installation and related civil works.
• Set out and survey cable routes, joints bays, ducts and associated infrastructure.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance.
• Ensure activities follow approved designs, ITPs, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Coordinate with Site Manager, Construction Manager, supervisors, subcontractors, and design teams.
• Maintain accurate site records, inspections, and engineering reports.
• Support QA/QC activities including testing and inspections.
