Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Mobile HVAC Service Technician to service, maintain, and repair HVAC systems across the South West, including Plymouth, Exeter and Bridgwater. You will diagnose faults, perform PPM, and implement improvements while delivering excellent customer service.

With a broad remit across split, VRF/VRV, chillers and AHUs, you will work independently or in a team, adhering to health and safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning required; Level 3 may be preferred.
• F-Gas 2079 Category 1 certification is essential.
• Broad experience across air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and chiller systems.
• Experience with manufacturers such as York, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, Carrier, Trane, Toshiba, Panasonic.
• Experience with BMS interfaces and HVAC control systems is advantageous.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics; strong customer-facing communication.
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team, with a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair HVAC systems across the South West, including air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose faults, perform planned preventative maintenance, complete repairs, and propose system improvements.
• Work independently or with a service team to ensure customer equipment runs safely and reliably.
• Handle a variety of systems: split, multi-split, VRF/VRV, chillers, AHUs, ventilation, and heat pumps, per customer agreements and safety standards.

What you will do

As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems across the South West. This includes air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

You will diagnose faults, carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), complete repairs, and recommend system improvements where appropriate. Working both independently and as part of a wider service team, you will ensure customer equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while delivering excellent customer service.

You will be expected to work on a variety of systems including split, multi-split, VRF/VRV, chillers, AHUs, ventilation equipment, and heat pump technologies. All work must be completed in line with customer agreements, company procedures, and health and safety standards.

What we look for

• NVQ Level 2 in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent qualification (Level 3 desirable)
• F-Gas 2079 Category 1 certification
• Broad HVAC service experience across air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and chiller systems
• Experience working with equipment from manufacturers such as York, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Hitachi, Carrier, Trane, Toshiba, and Panasonic
