Job summary

David Leslie Ltd in South London is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Service Engineer to help establish a new dedicated HVAC Service & Maintenance department. You will cover planned maintenance, breakdowns and repairs, working with a small team and reporting to the Service & Maintenance Manager.

Expect varied technical work on split, multi-split and VRF/VRV systems, with a strong emphasis on fault diagnosis, safe working practices and high-quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC service and maintenance.
• Good practical knowledge of split, multi-split and VRF/VRV systems.
• Understanding of wider HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers and air source heat pumps.
• Confident diagnosing faults and identifying suitable repairs.
• Full UK driving licence.
• F-Gas Category 1 certification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, attend breakdowns and complete repairs to air conditioning and associated Building Services equipment.
• Service and maintain split, multi-split and VRF/VRV systems; replace components as needed.
• Inspect, clean and test equipment per maintenance schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
• Identify potential equipment failures and recommend remedial work to improve system performance.
• Explain findings and required work clearly to customers and managers.
• Complete accurate service reports, equipment readings and maintenance records.
• Follow safe working practices including safe isolation and risk assessments.
• Manage tools, testing equipment, and company vehicle responsibly.
