Job summary

3D Personnel Ltd are seeking a Technical Sales & Applications Engineer for HVAC systems to be based in London. You will provide specialist technical support to the sales team, assisting with equipment selection, engineering calculations and project proposals for residential developments.

The role requires strong HVAC knowledge, MVHR experience and the ability to present technical solutions to consultants and contractors.

Qualifications

• Strong background in residential HVAC and building services engineering.
• Experience with MVHR, heating, ventilation and domestic hot water systems.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and equipment selection.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
• Confident in presenting technical solutions to consultants, contractors and developers.
• Commercial awareness to support technical sales.
• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering preferred.
• CIBSE membership or BPEC training advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Select and size HVAC and ventilation equipment for residential projects.
• Perform ventilation, duct sizing, pressure losses, heating demand calculations.
• Review consultant drawings to identify constraints and equipment needs.
• Prepare technical proposals and equipment recommendations.
• Provide technical advice to M&E consultants, developers and contractors.
• Attend technical meetings and deliver product presentations.
• Support sales by demonstrating equipment suitability and benefits.
• Liaise with internal technical teams to ensure proper product applications.

The Opportunity

3D Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a specialist supplier of innovative, energy-efficient heating, ventilation and heat recovery systems for residential developments across the UK.

Our client works closely with a leading European manufacturer, supplying advanced HVAC solutions incorporating mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR), heat pumps, heating and domestic hot water systems.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Technical Sales & Applications Engineer to join their team in London Bridge.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will provide specialist technical support to the sales team, assisting with equipment selection, engineering calculations and project proposals for residential new-build apartments and housing developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select and size suitable HVAC and ventilation equipment for residential projects.

• Undertake calculations covering ventilation rates, duct sizing, pressure losses, heating demand and domestic hot water requirements.

• Review consultant drawings, identifying technical constraints and equipment requirements.

• Prepare technical proposals, equipment recommendations and responses to specifications.

• Provide technical advice to M&E consultants, developers and contractors.

• Attend technical meetings and deliver product presentations.

• Support the sales team in demonstrating equipment suitability, performance and commercial benefits.

• Liaise with internal technical teams to ensure appropriate product applications.

Experience & Qualifications

• Strong technical background in residential HVAC, ventilation and building services engineering.

• Experience with MVHR, heating, ventilation and domestic hot water systems.

• Proven ability to undertake engineering calculations and equipment selection.

• Experience reviewing technical drawings and specifications.

• Confident communicating technical solutions to consultants, contractors and developers.

• Commercial awareness and an ability to support technical sales activities.

• HNC, HND or degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering preferred. Equivalent experience considered.

• CIBSE membership or BPEC domestic ventilation training would be advantageous.
