Job summary
SWFT Clinical Services is seeking a Plumbing and Heating engineer within the Estates Department to maintain water, gas, HVAC and medical gas systems across Trust properties. Responsibilities include planned preventive maintenance, emergency call-outs and complex fault diagnosis, with on-call rota duties and professional liaison with clinical staff.
The role is based on site in the West Midlands with a Monday–Friday 8am–4pm schedule, overtime and weekend work on occasion.
Qualifications
- Advanced plumbing craft certificate, including installation and maintenance of heating systems and appliances
- Water hygiene awareness training
- Asbestos awareness
Responsibilities
- Diagnose complex faults and carry out repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
- Respond to planned preventive maintenance and emergency calls, planning workload from CAFM schedules
- Service and install water, gas, HVAC, steam, refrigeration, medical gas, oil-fired, drainage and decontamination systems
- Carry out new work, including manufacture, assembly and installation, without supervision
- Diagnose plant problems using the Building Management System
- Make safe and carry out temporary repairs in emergencies, reporting and arranging repairs
