Job summary

Major Recruitment is seeking an Estimating Engineer for an engineering business delivering ventilation, air conditioning and general HVAC projects in Bradford.

You will read project specifications, prepare estimates for HVAC systems, liaise with clients to finalise design requirements, and follow up quotations. The role requires strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and the ability to use Ensign take-off and related software.

Qualifications

• HVAC estimating experience required.
• Knowledge of HVAC products and systems.
• Ability to develop competitive pricing.
• Strong client communication skills.
• Attention to detail with technical information.
• Good scheduling, time management and organisation.
• CAD skills would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project specs, schedules and drawings.
• Prepare estimates for ventilation, air conditioning and HVAC systems.
• Liaise with clients to finalise design requirements.
• Follow up quotations with customers.
• Use component and design selection software.
• Utilise Ensign take-off and estimating software.
• Analyse costs and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Review quotations and hand projects to delivery team at order.
