Job summary

TipTopJob in Luton is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our HVAC team. The role covers mobile work across Luton, Stevenage, Bishops Stortford and surrounding areas, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems.

You will service boilers, fans, pumps, AHUs and FCUs, diagnose faults, complete service reports, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rota. A full UK driving licence and safety-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ or SVQ Level 3 in Heating, Ventilation, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC or an equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Experience working across commercial or retail environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.
• Good customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across multiple retail sites.
• Service and repair commercial boilers, fans, pumps, AHUs and FCUs.
• Complete minor alterations and installations within your area of competence.
• Attend breakdowns and diagnose faults efficiently.
• Identify non:repairable equipment and recommend suitable replacement options.
• Complete service reports and update work through a PDA system.
• Order parts and spares in line with company procedures.
• Work as part of a 24/7 on:call rota, approximately 1 week in 4.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, compliance and customer service.

Salary: A GBP 48,656.73 total salary, including 5 SLA and standby payment

Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

This is a mobile role covering multiple retail sites across Luton, Stevenage, Bishops Stortford and the surrounding areas. Youll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, servicing commercial heating systems and supporting the wider HVAC requirements across the estate.
