CGR is an engineering consultancy specialising in the planning, design and development of world class port and harbour facilities an associated infrastructure, in particular related to container terminals.

The successful candidate for this role will be based at CGR's head office in Kingston-upon-Thames.

The Role

The candidate will work closely with senior engineers to help deliver electrical engineering services in the port and harbour sector. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of private HV distribution network design including:

• Load assessment
• Sizign and selection of equipment
• Cable sizing
• Basic protection systems (such as unit protection, overcurrent and earth protection)
• Load flow and fault studies
• Earthing systems design
  
  

The Role Includes The Need To

• Prepare reports, specification and design reports in line with company quality assurance procedures and client requirements as well as applicable standards and codes of practice
• Support in contract administration by reviewing design submission to ensure compliance with local codes and standards as well as client requirements
  
  

Skills Required

• Knowledge of industry standard software such as ETAP would be an advantage
• Ideally degree qualifies however industry accredited candidates such as project engineers of DNO engineers/designers will also be considered
• The ability to works and communicate effectively with senior staff members
• Flexible approach to completing tasks on a timely manner
• Willingness to travel on short assignments both with the UK and overseas (subject to COVID-19 restrictions)
• Driver's license and passport
