Progressive Recruitment’s client seeks a Site Manager for an HV substation project in Hampshire. Contract role starting ASAP and running to December 2026, typically Monday–Friday with programmed outage/out-of-hours work.

You must have SSE/SSEN Senior Authorised Person/site-management level authorisation, SMSTS, and a recognised electrical qualification with HV substation experience. Driving licence and safety certifications are required.

Competenze

• Must hold SSE/SSEN Senior Authorised Person/site-management authorisation.
• SMSTS certification required.
• Electrical engineering qualification or time-served equivalent.
• SHEA Power / EUSR utility safety passport and CSCS/ECS card; first aid at work.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Hands-on HV substations experience at 33kV and 132kV.
• Delivery of HV outages planning and safety documentation.

Mansioni

• Take overall site responsibility for safe, on-programme delivery to the 8 December 2026 completion date.
• Interact with SSEN operations and authorising staff; plan and manage HV/LV outages and site access windows.
• Hold SSE authorisation at Senior AP/site-management level; control safe system of work and safety docs.
• Lead and coordinate the site team and subcontractors against the programme.
• Own safety, CDM compliance; brief RAMS, conduct daily briefings, maintain zero-harm culture.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and energisation with commissioning engineer and SSEN control.
• Manage QA, inspection/test plan sign-off, snagging and defect close-out.
• Compile commissioning docs and as-built records; manage de-mobilisation and handover.
• Manage materials, plant, logistics and traffic; report progress and cost to PM.
