Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager for 132kV & infrastructure projects, hybrid in Essex or Cambridge with UK-wide travel. The salary range is £50,000-£80,000 per annum (DOE) and a £500 monthly car allowance plus mileage paid.

You will build long-term relationships with utilities, DNOs, ICPs and major contractors, drive bids for HV cabling and substations, and shape future growth with senior leadership across HV infrastructure and civil projects.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in business development within utilities or civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of UK electricity infrastructure market.
• Existing relationships with DNOs, ICPs or major contractors.
• Experience with 132kV and above.
• Willingness to travel UK-wide.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across the UK utilities and electrical infrastructure sectors.
• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company growth plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with utilities, DNOs, ICPs, developers and principal contractors.
• Manage opportunities from initial engagement through to contract award.
• Support the preparation of tenders, proposals and client presentations.
• Collaborate with operational, commercial and estimating teams during bid processes.
• Attend client meetings, networking events and industry conferences.
• Maintain an accurate pipeline of opportunities and forecasts.
