Job summary

Mint Selection are partnered with a leading renewable energy developer to recruit an experienced Grid Connection Construction Project Manager for a major UK project. You will oversee grid connection and high-voltage infrastructure works from notice to proceed through completion, managing contractor performance and coordinating interfaces.

You will keep the programme on track through construction, testing, energisation and handover, reporting on safety, progress and costs, and escalating

Qualifications

• Strong PM experience on major infrastructure, utilities, energy or regulated construction projects.
• Experience managing contractors across complex construction programmes.
• Ability to assess progress against critical path and drive recovery.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and project interfaces.
• Good commercial and contract awareness (EPC, design-and-build or FIDIC).
• Disciplined approach to project records, actions, deadlines and reporting.
• Confidence to challenge contractors and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
• HV grid connection experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the grid connection contractor and enforce programme commitments.
• Maintain visibility of critical path, deliverables, decisions, dependencies and risks.
• Coordinate interfaces between grid connection works, transformer supply, solar EPC contractors and cable route works.
• Work with grid stakeholders to track testing and pre-energisation requirements.
• Review contractor programmes, identify delays early and drive recovery plans where required.
• Coordinate contractor submissions and approvals, ensuring actions have clear owners and deadlines.
• Chair contractor meetings and maintain accurate action, risk, issue and decision logs.
• Work with the Contracts Manager on changes, notices, milestones and payments.
• Report on safety, programme, progress, cost, quality and key decisions.
• Escalate significant issues with a clear assessment of the impact and recommended action.
