Job summary

Tata Steel UK Limited, Shotton, is seeking an Electrical HV Engineer to join the Electrical Distribution team. The role covers HV/LV distribution work from 33kV to 415V, including switchgear maintenance and protection testing across the Shotton Works.

Responsibilities include monitoring the HV/LV network, conducting risk assessments, supporting projects, maintaining systems, and mentoring apprentices as part of a safety-focused operation.

Qualifications

• High voltage engineer with practical experience preferred; training provided.
• Good communication skills and risk awareness in planning tasks.
• Working knowledge of SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HV and LV distribution at Shotton Works and maintain switchgear.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures and carry out risk assessments.
• Undertake preventive and corrective maintenance on LV systems.
• Support HV Engineering manager with project delivery and maintenance.
• Develop Apprentices and deliver HV/LV training modules
• Review and update maintenance procedures as needed
• Operate standby generators and assist fault resolution across HV/LV interfaces
• Test the works earthing network and deputize for the HV engineering manager
