Job summary

Unify is recruiting a Cable Jointer / HV Fitter to join a field-based team across Yorkshire and the North of England. You will perform cable jointing, substation work up to 33kV, and assist with transformers and switchgear installations while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role offers a competitive salary (£45,000–£60,000), a company vehicle, overtime and extensive benefits, with long-term career progression through competency development and formal authorisations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cable Jointer or HV fitter in electrical distribution projects.
• Full UK driving licence and commitment to safety standards.
• Practical knowledge of installing, jointing and testing LV/HV networks up to 33kV.
• Ability to work in substation environments and outdoor sites.
• Experience with transformers, switchgear and protection equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate underground cable systems (polymeric and paper-lead).
• Joint, terminate and test LV/HV distribution systems up to 33kV.
• Support installation, replacement and commissioning of transformers and switchgear.
• Work safely in substations and construction environments.
• Assist with cable identification, testing and commissioning activities.
