Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a skilled HV Cable Designer to support the delivery of renewable energy infrastructure projects in the UK. The permanent role focuses on design and development of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cable systems, ensuring robust, compliant solutions from feasibility to installation.

The ideal candidate has an Electrical Engineering degree and proven experience in HV/EHV design for energy/renewables, with strong skills in cable sizing, thermal rating, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in HV and EHV cable design within energy, power or renewables.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking HV and EHV cable design activities in line with TP141 requirements and applicable industry standards.
• Carrying out cable sizing, thermal rating and ampacity calculations.
• Completing bonding, earthing and induced voltage studies.
• Assessing cable route feasibility, trench designs and installation methods.
• Using specialist cable design software, including CYMCAP and ELEK.
• Preparing detailed technical reports, design documentation and engineering deliverables.
• Producing accurate cable design drawings using AutoCAD.
• Collaborating with engineering and project teams to support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects.

Our client is seeking a skilled HV Cable Designer to support the delivery of renewable energy infrastructure projects. Job Requirements
