Job summary

Nexus Careers Group Ltd is recruiting an HV Engineer to join a global facilities management company on a flagship site in Derby. As the HV Authorised Person, you will oversee safe operation and maintenance of the high voltage network powering a large manufacturing operation.

This permanent, full-time role offers a Monday–Friday day pattern (08:00–17:00) and a clear path to Senior Authorised Person and Authorising Engineer.

Qualifications

• Current HV Authorised Person (HVAP) status is essential.
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; HNC desirable.
• Experience operating and maintaining HV networks up to 11 kV in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as HV Authorised Person, carrying out HV and LV switching, isolation and earthing across the site’s distribution network.
• Write switching programmes and issue safety documents such as Permits to Work and Sanctions for Test.
• Conduct PPM and inspections on HV plant including switchgear, RMUs, transformers and substations.
• Fault-finding and response to HV and LV faults to minimise production disruption.
• Support protection testing, earthing tests and contractors during outages.
• Plan outages with production and site teams and keep HV records up to date.
