Job summary

Step Teachers are seeking a Humanities Teacher for day-to-day supply across Ipswich and surrounding areas. You will deliver lessons in History, Geography and RE, adapting to year groups and abilities while maintaining an inclusive classroom.

Holders of QTS with strong classroom management are preferred, with reliability and professionalism essential to build rapid rapport with pupils and staff in secondary settings.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Confidently teach Humanities across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong classroom management and adaptability.
  • Reliable, flexible and professional as a Humanities Teacher.
  • Able to quickly build rapport with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

Humanities Teacher – Day-to-day supply from as soon as possible

These flexible opportunities are ideal for Humanities Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings in Ipswich and the surrounding areas.

Duties as Humanities Teacher:
  • Deliver engaging lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, and RE
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different year groups and abilities
  • Follow school planning or create short-term lesson plans where needed
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Mark work and provide feedback when required
  • Liaise with school staff to ensure smooth handovers
Ideal Humanities Teacher:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Confident teaching Humanities subjects across KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom management and adaptability
  • Reliable, flexible, and professional as a Humanities Teacher
  • Able to quickly build rapport with pupils and staff
  • Experience in secondary settings preferred but not essential
