Humanities Teacher at SEMH Secondary School

Location: Hulme, Manchester

Start Date: Easter 2024

Are you a Humanities Teacher with experience working with students with SEN? Prospero Teaching is working with a school in Hulme that supports 11- to 16-year-olds with SEMH needs.

• Specialist SEMH provision, including therapeutic support and pastoral care

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Humanities (History, Geography, RE)
• Consideration for primary trained teachers with a Humanities specialism
• ECT Humanities Teachers are welcome to apply
• Experience teaching Humanities to students with SEN, preferably SEMH
• Experience teaching GCSE Humanities to diverse learners
• Passion for supporting students with SEND
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Humanities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to professional development

Start Date and Contract:

The role begins in September 2023, for the academic year, with a possibility for a permanent position.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• QTS, PGCE, or equivalent
• Previous experience in UK schools
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
