Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and skilled Humanities teacher to join a secondary school in Portsmouth this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach both Geography and History to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role:
As a Teacher of Humanities, you will:

  • Design and deliver dynamic, inclusive lessons in Geography and History that spark curiosity and foster a love for learning.

  • Use a range of assessment strategies to track student progress and tailor your teaching to support individual needs.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of an engaging, diverse curriculum that reflects our students’ interests and backgrounds.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and drive high standards across the department.

  • Play an active role in nurturing reflective learners in line with the Thinking Schools approach, helping students grow into independent and thoughtful individuals.

About You:
The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching both Geography and History.

  • Bring a strong understanding of effective teaching strategies for Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Be committed to fostering academic progress and promoting a growth mindset among all learners.

  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
