Teacher of Humanities – Permanent Role
Location: Merton
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by negotiation)

An esteemed and award-winning Multi Academy Trust, known for its commitment to educational excellence and staff development, is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Humanities to join the permanent teaching staff of one of its highly regarded secondary schools in Merton.

This large Multi Academy Trust is nationally recognised for outstanding academic results, a strong emphasis on inclusive education, and its supportive leadership. The school itself enjoys a well-earned reputation for high standards, a thriving and diverse student body, and an environment that values innovation and collaboration.

The Role:

The successful candidate will teach Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience and specialism. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a committed team of subject specialists, supported by excellent resources and strong leadership at both school and Trust level.

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • A degree in a relevant Humanities subject (History, Geography, RE or related field)
  • Proven classroom teaching experience or strong evidence of potential from ITT
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour
  • Ability to inspire and motivate young people across a range of abilities
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative practice
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for education and Humanities
