Job summary

Bevan Brittan LLP is seeking an experienced HR Operations Manager to lead the delivery of HR operations across the firm. You will oversee employee lifecycle processes, systems, data, payroll and governance, ensuring compliant, efficient services and an outstanding colleague experience.

Qualifications

• Experienced HR Operations Manager or HR professional with strong operational background.
• Experience in HR within a law firm or professional services environment is desirable.
• Proven track record leading and developing teams to deliver high‑quality HR services.
• Skilled in managing HR systems, data and reporting.
• Knowledgeable about payroll processes and working with external providers.
• Collaborative; builds strong relationships across HR and the wider business.
• Commercially aware with understanding how HR Operations supports business objectives.
• Comfortable using HR systems and data to improve decision making and service delivery.
• Curious about technology and AI/automation to improve processes.
• Experience implementing or enhancing HR systems or rewards/benefits technology.
• Degree level education; CIPD in progress or completed is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HR Operations team and set direction for service delivery.
• Manage employee lifecycle processes from hire to offboarding.
• Drive operational excellence across HR activities and governance.
• Own HR systems, data quality, reporting, and analytics.

We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking HR Operations Manager to join our friendly and supportive HR team. This is a newly created role and an exciting opportunity to lead the future of HR Operations at one of the UK's leading law firms, shaping and developing this function.

As our HR Operations Manager, you'll lead the delivery of HR operations across the firm, with responsibility for HR service delivery, employee lifecycle processes, systems, data, payroll and operational governance. You'll play a key role in ensuring our processes are efficient, compliant and deliver an outstanding experience for colleagues and mangers.

We work in a hybrid way across the firm and, in line with the needs of the role, can offer a high level of flexibility in how you structure your working week.

What we're looking for from you

You will be:

• An experienced HR Operations Manager, or an experienced HR professional with a strong operational background
• Ideally experienced working within a HR function in a law firm
• Experienced in leading and developing teams to deliver high quality HR services
• Skilled in managing HR systems, data and reporting
• Knowledgeable about payroll processes and working with external providers
• Naturally collaborative, building strong relationships across HR and the wider business
• Commercially aware, with a good understanding of how HR Operations supports wider business objectives
• Confident using HR systems and data to improve decision making and service delivery
• Curious about technology and innovative ways of working, preferably with experience in using AI and automation to improve processes
• Experienced supporting the implementation or enhancement of HR systems or rewards and benefits technology would be beneficial
• Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant professional experience.
• CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous, although not essential
