Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Manager for its Hinckley Point C contract, primarily based in Weston-Super-Mare with regular travel to Bridgwater, Bristol and Gloucester sites.

You will lead all people activities, partnering with leaders to drive engagement and performance across a multi-site operation. The role reports to the Regional HR Business Partner and is a full-time, permanent position with standard hours 08:00–17:00, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or working towards it.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
• Experience in unionised or industrial relations environments.
• Proven ability to coach, influence and build credibility with managers.

Responsibilities

• Lead all employee relations activity with guidance on employment law, policies, disciplinary and complex case management.
• Drive people initiatives: engagement, talent development, succession planning, diversity & inclusion, apprenticeships, performance management.
• Partner with operational leaders on organisational change, workforce planning and development of high-performing teams.
• Lead recruitment across the contract ensuring a fair, positive candidate experience.
• Ensure compliance with policies, audits and contractual obligations with robust reporting.

Job description

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment? Can you partner with leaders to drive engagement, performance, and organisational success? Do you have the confidence to lead complex employee relations matters while championing a positive workplace culture?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a HR Manager to join our site on our Hinckley Point C contract, supporting one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. Primarily based in Weston-Super-Mare, with regular travel to our Bridgwater, Bristol and Gloucester sites.

As a Tier One partner to New Nuclear Build (NNB), we provide critical warehousing and transportation services supporting the construction of two new nuclear reactors. This role offers the opportunity to shape the people agenda across a complex, multi-site operation, ensuring we attract, retail, and develop a highly engaged and capable workforce.

Reporting to the Regional HR Business Partner with a dotted-line relationship into the General Manager/Account Director, you will lead all people activities across the contract, providing strategic and operational HR support to managers and employees alike.

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work Monday to Friday 08:00 till 17:00.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £50,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company car allowance of £495 per month, a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.

• Ensure compliance with people policies, audit requirements, and contractual obligations while maintaining robust reporting and people metrics

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• CIPD Level 5 qualified or actively working towards this
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations, and modern HR practices
• Experience working within a unionised or industrial relations environment
• Proven ability to coach, influence, and build credibility with managers at all levels
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills with a pragmatic and resilient approach
