Responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR point of contact for General Manager and Heads of Department in the hotel.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations, including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment law, brand standards, and HR policies.
• Lead recruitment to attract and retain talent in Brighton's hospitality market.
• Coach line managers on people management best practices.
• Drive employee engagement, recognition, and wellbeing initiatives on site.
• Oversee HR administration, payroll liaison, and HRIS data accuracy.
• Manage training and development plans including brand and compliance training.
• Support workforce planning and headcount budgeting, championing DEI across the hotel

We are seeking an experienced and personable HR Manager to lead the people function at a branded hotel in Brighton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on HR professional to take ownership of the full employee lifecycle at a single, vibrant property, working closely with the General Manager and Heads of Department to build a strong, engaged team culture.

You'll be a visible, trusted presence on-site, balancing day‑to‑day operational HR with longer‑term initiatives that support the hotel's performance and guest experience.

Requirements

• Proven HR management experience within a hotel or branded hospitality environment
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice
• CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable building relationships at all levels
• Confident handling complex employee relations cases independently
• Highly organised, with strong prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, hands‑on approach with a genuine passion for hospitality and people
• Familiarity with branded hotel standards and systems is an advantage
