Job summary

Austin Matley in Milton Keynes is seeking a hands-on HR professional to own and improve people systems, processes and data within a fast-moving operation.

You’ll lead HRIS and data reporting, manage employee relations, support recruitment and onboarding, and embed robust performance, engagement and benchmarking practices across the business.

This fully on-site role requires CIPD Level 5 or equivalent and a practical, autonomous approach to help the people function progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/logistics or similarly operational settings.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
• Commercially minded, systems-focused, hands-on and autonomous.

Responsibilities

• Own HR systems, HRIS integration, data quality and reporting.
• Manage Employee Relations cases and coach managers.
• Support recruitment and onboarding across roles.
• Embed performance management processes and accountability.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives.
• Use MI and benchmark data to inform decisions.

Job description

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, supporting leaders day-to-day while also improving systems, processes and the overall people function.

You’ll take ownership across:

• HR systems & HRIS integration – improving processes, data quality and reporting
• Employee Relations – confidently managing ER cases and coaching managers
• Recruitment & onboarding – supporting hiring across operational and professional roles
• Performance management – embedding effective processes and increasing accountability
• Employee engagement – developing and implementing practical engagement initiatives
• People data & benchmarking – using MI, trends and external benchmark data to support decisions
• Manager capability – giving leaders the tools, processes and guidance to manage their teams effectively
• Continuous improvement – identifying opportunities to automate, simplify and strengthen HR processes

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience gained within manufacturing, logistics, distribution or a similarly operational environment.

You’ll ideally be CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent), commercially minded, systems-focused and comfortable operating autonomously while remaining very hands-on.

This is a fully on-site role in Milton Keynes and would suit someone looking for genuine ownership and the opportunity to help drive a people function forward.
