Job summary

Northern Powergrid is seeking an Analyst to join the People & Change team to deliver people-related reports and drive process efficiencies through automation. The role focuses on HR reporting, data analysis and ensuring timely, accurate reporting across the business.

The package includes a competitive salary (£34,000 - £38,000) with benefits such as 25 days holiday and a potential 10% performance bonus. Applicants should have strong Excel skills and experience with PowerBI.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel proficiency and strong analytical skills.

• Knowledge of SQL queries is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Production, development and validation of new and existing reports per customer specs for the HR and wider business.
• Understand data processes and reverse engineer to fix reporting errors.
• Support and maintain reports and drive process improvements through automation.
• Analyse people-related data and present conclusions to meet customer specs.
• Coordinate weekly/monthly reporting and support external reporting requirements (e.g., headcount).
• Drive process improvements through automation for new and existing HR processes.
• Assist with other People Services tasks as required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Analyst to join the People & Change team.

You will be responsible for the provision of people related reports for the HR team and wider business and seeking and delivering opportunities for process efficiencies through automation of HR processes, to provide smarter solutions and improve customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production/development/validation of new and routine reports, in accordance and agreement of customer specifications. This relates to the wider business community in addition to HR team
• Able to understand data processes and reverse engineer in order to fix errors in reports
• Support and maintain the existing suite of reports and business process improvements, to provide continuity and deliver enhancements in the future
• Support analysis and interpretation of people related data
• Work within a closely managed reporting cycle ensuring both internal and external reporting requirements (including the production of BHE headcount reporting) is achieved
• Collation and validation of weekly / monthly reports in addition to support metric submissions to an accurate standard and on time seek out and deliver process improvement, through automation, for existing and new people service business processes
• Supporting the wider people services team, as when required with general administration tasks and activities
• Handling ad-hoc requests, i.e. data investigation, assisting with testing/audits, involvement in projects.
• Documentation of changes to processes or new processes i.e. written form, video guides
• Ability to analyse data and present conclusions to meet customer specification
• Excellent presentation and written skills and sound verbal communication at all levels including senior management
• Adaptable to and accepting of change
• Excellent organisational skills to ensure tight deadlines are delivered when required
• High attention to detail
• Unquestionable integrity and confidentiality

Qualifications & Experience

• Microsoft Excel (advanced)
• Microsoft Word
• Strong proven analytical skills
• Knowledge and experience in production of performance metrics (including people data e.g. headcount reporting)
• Previous experience of using standard reporting tools, e.g. PowerBI
• Experience of SQL queries would be an advantage
