Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a hands-on role at our Long Sutton site. You’ll be visible across the operation, driving employee relations and HR projects within a major transformation programme.

With 3–5 years of generalist HR experience (ER/absence), you’ll partner with managers, lead recruitment, onboarding and engagement initiatives, and support reporting and compliance. Hybrid setup available.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' generalist HR experience withER and absence management exposure.
• FMCG/manufacturing experience would be a big plus.
• CIPD or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle employee relations, disciplinaries and grievances.
• Oversee absence management and Occupational Health coordination.
• Coach and advise line managers across the site.

Long Sutton | Hybrid | Permanent

It’s a hands-on operational HR role where you’ll be visible across the site rather than stuck behind a desk.

The site is going through a major transformation following an £80m investment, so there’s plenty happening — and HR is right in the middle of it.

You’ll support around 450–550 employees, working closely with managers across the site and getting involved in:

• Employee relations, disciplinaries and grievances
• Absence management and Occupational Health
• Coaching and advising line managers
• Recruitment and onboarding
• Employee engagement and retention
• HR projects and continuous improvement
• Trade union and employee relations
• HR reporting, systems and compliance

What’s needed?

Ideally 3–5 years' generalist HR experience, with solid ER and absence management exposure. FMCG/manufacturing experience would be a big plus, alongside CIPD or equivalent experience.

Hybrid setup with a WFH Friday. Plus 25 days' holiday + birthday, 14.5% pension, option to buy 5 additional days and enhanced family-friendly benefits.
