Job summary

Macmillan Davies in London is seeking an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join the busy People team on a 3-6 month FTC, with potential to become permanent. This role offers a salary of up to £40,000 and a hybrid working pattern with 1 day per week in the office.

You will provide expert advice to stakeholders on HR policies, employment law, and best practices, supporting the People Partners in day-to-day HR functions and ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a positive workplace

Qualifications

• Experience as a generalist HR/People Advisory role.
• Strong employee relations, absence management and performance management capability.
• Sound, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience using HRIS systems, managing HR data and supporting payroll processes.
• Experience with pre-employment checking, DBS processes, Occupational Health referrals and TUPE would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on day-to-day HR functions, policies, procedures and best practices.
• Support the People Partners by handling day-to-day HR activities and casework.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and foster a positive workplace culture.
• Assist with absence management, performance management and employee relations matters.
• Support payroll processes and HR data management.

Salary: Up to £40,000

Location: London, with 1 day per week in the office

The People and Culture Advisor will play a key role supporting the People Partners by providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on day-to-day HR functions, HR policies, procedures, and best practices. This role requires a strong understanding of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practice, with a focus on fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience in a generalist HR/People Advisory role
• Strong employee relations, absence management and performance management capability
• Sound, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience using HRIS systems, managing HR data and supporting payroll processes
• Confidence advising managers on sensitive and complex people matters

Experience with pre-employment checking, DBS processes, Occupational Health referrals and TUPE would be advantageous.
