Job summary

TOTAL ADVISOR role at Toyota Automated Logistics seeks an experienced HSEQ professional to lead risk assessment, incident investigation, and compliance across UK sites. You will promote a proactive safety culture, support QHSE policy implementation, and collaborate with service and project teams to close actions and improve performance.

Applicants should hold a Level 6 OH&S qualification or equivalent, with IOSH GradIOSH or CMIOSH desirable, and be prepared to travel nationally while maintaining

Qualifications

  • IOSH Membership (GradIOSH minimum, CMIOSH desirable)
  • Proven HSEQ experience in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, automation, warehousing or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • ISO 45001 Management Systems
  • Machinery Safety and PUWER Regulations
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Hazardous Energy Isolation Programmes
  • Permit to Work (PTW) Systems and Critical Risk Controls
  • Contractor Management and Safe Systems of Work
  • Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
  • Audits, inspections, risk assessments experience
  • Strong communication, influencing, coaching, and stakeholder management
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationally
  • Environmental management experience including ISO 14001
  • Sustainability, waste and carbon reduction initiatives
  • Auditor qualification (ISO 45001/14001/9001)
  • CMIOSH (Chartered IOSH)
  • Experience in automated logistics, robotics or warehousing industries

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to TAL teams to meet legislation, ISO standards, processes and client standards
  • Support implementation of TAL QHSE Policies to drive improvements and certification
  • Promote proactive QHSE management; site-based, liaise with supervisors and employee reps
  • Drive an incident & injury free culture and risk reduction
  • Assist teams with documenting H&S materials, meetings, training, noticeboards
  • Assist managers with competence, records and risk/conformity tracking
  • Liaise with Service and Project teams to close actions and non-conformances
  • Carry out risk assessments (Fire, Workplace/Welfare, PUWER)
  • Support investigations of issues, accidents, incidents; produce reports and root cause analysis
  • Facilitate corrective and preventive actions with relevant teams
  • Undertake Internal Audits and follow-up on findings
  • Communicate companywide issues to relevant teams
  • Assist QHSE Manager and other advisors to meet objectives

The role requires a highly visible presence within operations, providing assurance, coaching, guidance, and leadership to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Your impact:
  • Provide advice and support to Toyota Automated Logistics teams to meet requirements of legislation, ISO standard, company processes & procedures and Clients standards.
  • Support implementation of the TAL QHSE Policies to drive improvements and gain / maintain certification.
  • Promote a proactive approach to QHSE management while being Site based , regular contact with supervisors, managers and employee representatives to ensure issues are clearly understood and effectively managed.
  • Drive an incident & injury free culture.
  • Maintain a strong focus on risk reduction & risk management and driving behavioural safety Assist teams in compiling and communicating user friendly documentation to manage QHSE risks including H&S meetings, H&S training, noticeboard materials etc.
  • Assist managers in ensuring competence of their teams and ensuring adequate records are maintained along with key risks and non-conformances.
  • Liaise with the Service teams and Project teams to close out actions and non-conformances.
  • Carry out risk assessments in designated locations (Fire, Workplace/Welfare and PUWER)
  • Support site teams with the investigation of issues, accidents, incidents and non-conformances, including production of accident & incident reports and root cause analysis.
  • Facilitate the delivery of corrective and preventive actions for significant issues in conjunction with the relevant teams / managers.
  • Undertake Internal Audits with reports and follow up of findings.
  • Communicate companywide issues to relevant teams.
  • Assist QHSE Manager and support other advisors across service/projects in meeting objectives

  • Experience supporting sustainability, waste reduction, carbon reduction, and environmental improvement programmes.
  • Auditor qualification (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 9001).
  • Chartered IOSH Membership (CMIOSH).
  • Experience working within automated logistics, robotics, warehouse automation, or material handling industries.
