Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Darlington, UK, invites a placement student to join the Health, Safety & Environment team for a 12-month placement starting Summer 2027. The role is onsite and requires travel to the location.

You will support COSHH assessments, run projects with real impact, and assist with monthly/quarterly HSE reporting. Candidates should be pursuing a relevant degree (Health & Safety / Environmental, Business Admin, or STEM) and have solid IT skills, especially Microsoft packages and ideally

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Health & Safety / Environmental, Business administration or STEM
Excellent IT skills, with strong Microsoft Office experience and ideally Power BI familiarity
Ability to collate data, solve problems and think innovatively
Good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

Running projects that add real impact and value.
Supporting the HSE team with project work and COSHH assessments.
Conducting research and investigation for projects in specific areas of Health, Safety and environment.
Managing the completion of project reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis with the Regional Health, Safety and Environment leaders.
Preparing and publishing the monthly Health, Safety and Environment reports.
Providing support to the team with internal auditing and projects that add value.
