Job summary

Cummins Inc in the UK (Daventry) is seeking an enthusiastic Health, Safety, and Environment Placement student to join our Environment team within the Power Systems Business. During your placement you will learn how a major global organisation operates and gain practical HSE exposure.

Responsibilities include supporting HSE projects, assisting with ISO 14001/45001/50001 standards, maintaining related documentation, analysing data, and contributing to continuous improvement while communicating

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in HSE or related field.
• Interest in HSE issues and policy and how they relate to business.
• Excellent IT, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry.,

• Providing first line support for the site's HSE team - this includes leading and/or supporting any HSE projects across the site.
• Assist in maintaining the site's ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards, including supported exposure to internal and external auditing events.
• Maintain and control documentation related to the standards.
• Analyse the site's HSE data and support day-to-day administration.
• Understand business changes and support continuous improvement.
• Communicate the site's HSE performance to all levels of the organization and provide training where possible.
  Working towards a degree, with special interest in HSE studies and policy.
• Have an interest in HSE issues and be able to link them to the business environment; previous experience within a manufacturing or commercial environment would be an advantage; particularly within a customer facing/support environment.
• Excellent IT ability, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills with the ability to work well within a team and use own initiative.
• Ambition, flexibility, and confidence coupled with creativity, imagination, a desire to learn, and a willingness to take on responsibility.
