We are currently recruiting for an interim HSE Manager to oversee UK sites on behalf of a large food manufacturing business, while they recruit a permanent candidate. You will be the most senior HSE professional in the UK, heading up a centralized function responsible for 7 sites with a workforce of just over 400 people. Your responsibilities include coaching and mentoring one direct report, supporting their development, creating and driving the Health and Safety strategy, and communicating it effectively at all levels. You will remain a hands-on, visible leader, leading by example with a positive, energetic approach that empowers the sites.

The role requires someone who is commutable to Northamptonshire, where 3 of the 7 sites are located, and able to travel approximately 4 days a week, particularly to a site in the North West.

The position is 80% HSE and 20% Environmental, with the environmental and sustainability aspects expected to increase over time.

What we are looking for:
  1. Someone confident in an operational, hands-on capacity who is willing to roll up their sleeves.
  2. Ability to engage, gain buy-in, influence, and communicate the HSEQ message to the Senior Leadership Team. Credibility to communicate across all levels is essential.
  3. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) qualification.
  4. Experience in FMCG is desirable, but wider regulated manufacturing experience is also acceptable.
  5. Knowledge of Environmental Sustainability is preferred.
  6. Previous management experience across multiple sites in a similar senior role.
  7. Located near Corby.

The day rate offered is £500 per day (DOE). This is a 3-month initial contract, with potential for extension.
