Job summary

Probe UK Limited is seeking an accomplished Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead the HSE function across a complex manufacturing operation. You will own the site’s safety and environmental standards, drive compliance, continuous improvement, and foster a strong safety culture in partnership with senior leadership.

This is a key management role that collaborates with senior stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, robust HSE management systems, and effective risk controls

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar HSE management role.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Experience working within a COMAH-regulated environment.
• NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate (or equivalent).
• Lead Auditor ISO 45001/ISO 14001 (ISO 9001 also advantageous).
• IOSH Managing Safely.
• Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and ALARP assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Drive proactive health and safety culture through leadership and engagement.
• Manage accident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead internal and external audits, manage non-conformances and ensure improvements.
• Maintain the site legislation register and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Manage risk assessments, including COSHH, and implement appropriate control measures.
• Oversee key safety procedures, including LOTO, confined space entry, safe isolation and emergency response.
• Lead the site safety committee and communicate HSE performance to senior management.
• Support process safety assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA.

Do you have the leadership skills and technical knowledge to drive health, safety and environmental standards across a complex manufacturing operation?

We're looking for an accomplished HSE Manager to take ownership of the site's Health, Safety and Environmental function, driving compliance, continuous improvement and a positive safety culture throughout the business.

This is a key management position, working closely with senior leadership and the wider business to ensure the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility and operational compliance.

You'll be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the site's HSE management systems, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards and regulatory requirements

Commutable from :- Wigan, Standish, Skelmersdale, Bolton, Haydock, Chorley and Rainford

Duties

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.

• Good working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate (or equivalent).
• Experience conducting risk assessments, COSHH assessments and internal audits.
• Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 (ISO 9001 also advantageous).
• IOSH Managing Safely.
• Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and ALARP assessments.
