Job summary

Independent Forgings and Alloys Ltd (IFA) in Sheffield seeks a proactive HSE Manager to lead the site's safety function, maintain ISO 14001/45001 standards and drive continuous improvement in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will develop HSE strategy, oversee audits, incident investigations, training, and regulatory compliance, liaising with regulators and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience leading HSE in heavy manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to design and implement HSE strategies and training.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation (PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, RIDDOR).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the HSE strategy for the site.
• Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation and environmental permits.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain ISO 14001/45001 and drive continuous environmental improvements.
• Lead audits, inspections and corrective actions; support regulator and customer audits.
• Provide guidance to production, maintenance, quality and engineering teams on safe operating practices.
